This last quarter’s classes turned out to be more difficult than expected. I signed up for a MS Access class and a Business Stats class. I won’t say much more about the Access class. I already had experience with it so it was a easy A.
I was looking forward to the stats class, since I use it all the time in my work. Unfortunately we were plagued by a new teacher and a new book. The first two chapters of homework were taking students 8 hours (!) to complete, this after being in class for 4 hours. That’s just too much for people who also have real jobs. She cut it down quite a bit after that, but just illustrates how out of sync the teacher was with our needs.
I managed a B in the class, but not without a lot of help from my classmates. If I hadn’t been able to complete the homework I wouldn’t have ever passed. Yet, I still didn’t come out of the class with a good understanding of the subjects.
A brown 1973 Ford Torino was my first car. The 73 model year wasn’t what I would consider at the height of style for the Torinios (seems all of Ford’s designs went for the worse starting with 1973). The 72 Torino had a much better looking front end, however Starsky and Hutch drove a 73.
You can see, my Torino was in bad shape. I don’t recall but it may not have ran at all. But it was cheap! This is the type of car Sandler sings about in Ode To My Car (iTunes DRM Free or Ode To My Car [Explicit]).
As a result we found this powered blue 1973 Ford Torino 4 door.
The idea was that it would be used as parts for the 2 door. The big difference between the two is that the 4 door ran, had all it’s parts togther and it ran. I know what your saying, that 2 door is far sexier that that ugly 4 door, but did I mention it actually ran? Of course when I pushed on the accelerator it would actually accelerate about 2 seconds later. Made for some interesting left hand turns into traffic.
Thankfully I purchased a much better 1972 Ford Maverick not too much longer.
Update: The Clint Eastwood movie Gran Torino came out and has a much better looking Ford Torino. If my car had looked like the car in the movie, I would have had much different perspective on my POS.
I think this is important because some bloggers just may not get it (regardless of what software you use). Especially the younger types. I don’t talk about my work here. My work photos stay at work. I will often start a blog at work, just as I surf. But only during lunch and break. Unfortunately i have to produce results so i really don’t have a lot of time for this during the day anyways.
This is a test post by the admin. Nothing to see here please move along…
