Chicken Wing Shortage Predicted

January 26th, 2009 Greg Smith No comments

Oh dear god no! Thanks to the Pilgrim’s Pride bankruptcy, there could be a chicken wing shortage for the Superbowl.

The combination has made prices soar, suppliers say.

“Forty pounds (of wings) would be like $85,” Sam Musolino, owner of Sammy’s Pizzeria in nearby Niagara Falls, N.Y., tells WIVB-TV, Buffalo.

He used to pay only half that amount, he says.

Wing Stop says it’s the busiest day of the year for them. I planned to have wings for my Superbowl party but I will get them from Wing Basket. I better get my order in tomorrow!

Bernard Ebbers got what was coming to him.
Bernard Ebbers, the former CEO of WorldCom, was found guilty Tuesday for his role in the huge accounting scandal that led to the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.

A federal jury in New York, on its eighth day of deliberations, convicted Ebbers on all nine counts that he helped mastermind an $11 billion accounting fraud at WorldCom, now known as MCI.

Of course Ebbers says he knew nothing, he was only the CEO after all, how could he know anything that was going on at his company. Next up, lets see how long he gets in federal-pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
