This blog is written by Greg Smith who grew up in the deserts of Arizona and now lives in the desert of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He works for Intel Corporation. He is what some might call an Apple Fan Boy. Greg writes about things that interest him: Technology, Apple, New Mexico, Rio Rancho, Home Improvement and Automation among other things.
The first entry of Greg In The Desert is 5 June 2003 but Greg was doing something similar to blogging back in 1995. His first ISP was AMUG (Arizona Macintosh Users Group) and had a web site at the now defunct location at www.amug.org/~a121. The site is no longer there but the Wayback Machine has a little bit of the archive which only starts at 1998. Since amug, Greg In The Desert was known under various names including “For The Hell Of It” and hosted on earthlink and .mac to name a few.
Strangely a google search for Greg’s email address from amug only results in this post from 7 Sep 1995. Why the heck was he looking for “Russian Obstetric Practices”?
