Hulu is the online portal to NBC and Fox TV shows along with some movies on the web. Boxee is a very well done media center application that runs on Mac, PCs and the Apple TV. Boxee had the capability of showing video content through various services including Hulu, I have Boxee installed on my Apple TV and I can watch any episode of The Office on demand any time on my big screen through the internet.

As of Friday Hulu is no longer allowing it’s content be displayed through Boxee. Hulu isn’t being clear why other to say that their “content providers requested that we turn off access to our content via the Boxee product”.

That’s a good plan. Limit where your content is playable. It won’t annoy users or encourage piracy.
