mini: The Stupidest Review Yet
This Mac mini review, I can’t figure out if it’s a serious review or a joke.
…its sleek look comes at the expense of the parallel port, serial ports, the PS/2 ports and the drive bays… did I forget to mention that the Mini has no PCI slots either? And no floppy disk drive? Well, no wonder they got the unit to be so small… or I could grab an equally stylish, full-featured eMachine at the gas station with a bag of chips for less than half the Mini’s price, with the added benefit of being able to run Windows XP. Decisions, decisions… The Mini boots up into a stripped-down operating system which Apple calls OS X, similar to the stripped-down WindowsCE OS found on many handhelds
I admit to being an Apple Fan Boy, so my opinion might be a little biased. But it’s so close to completely missing the point, it must be a joke.

It’s a VERY CONFUSED PC user. He also said:
If you believe Appleís marketing department, the new Mini is ìsmaller than most packs of gumî and weighs ìless than four quartersî.† Well, we received our test unit from Apple yesterday, and let me say right off the bat that those claims are a wee bit of an exaggeration.
Hellooo! Could we get our products straight, pleases? My goodness. Give it to me and I’ll give you an accurate review, instead of something some non-computing PC Software reviewer can tell you.
This actually offends me. I may have to send an email.
funny how most mac users consider this all to be exactly the benefit of owning a mac – no winXP? thank god. no confusing ports requiring everything to run through UNIVERSAL serial bus and firewire? how convenient.
OK. after reading the entire review, I’m starting to think that the piece is satirical. I mean, it has to be, right? There’s no way that someone could be this misinformed?
BAH HAHAHAHAHA!!! I agree with you whole-heartedly; this person is either incredibly dense or was only half-conscious when writing this article.
Eh, this is the kind of person who accused Mac fans of being fanATICS. But who is the one with incredibly biased and closed-minded thinking here?
I’m sitting here trying to work out how many EMachines I’ve been ‘called out’ to fix… sorry reset / reformat… Hmm, I crashed the calculator. I love this article for it’s (i hope it’s intended) self-satire.
Obviously an attempt at parody: check out the review of the new PowerBook G5!

I was reading over at Macslash (I think) that there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the article which indicates that it’s (a poor rendition of) satire. Don’t take it seriously.
Who the heck is Jorge Lopez @ Technology Insider? This article is really really bad. Many a blogger among us will do a lot better job writing an article, without even having to try to be objective.
I’ve read some anti-Mac stuff, but this is just so stupid. I don’t see a disclaimer. Might be something to stirr up the community … just like the G5 PC mod where they supposedly tore everything out of a G5 to make it a better PC.
